“We had a wonderful time in your beautiful house.  Casa Castagna is spacious, well appointed and generously furnished. The location is fantastic: the border of trees directs the view to 2 beautiful villages in the distance and the olive grove near the pool provides privacy. The house elegantly combines old and new and we would certainly recommend it to anyone who is interested in Le Marche. We have spent many holidays in Italy and Casa Castagna is one of the nicest houses we ever rented.”

“We spent a most enjoyable week at Casa Castegna, 6 girls for my birthday celebrations.  The setting is lovely and peaceful and the town of Rubbianello had everything we needed.  If you follow the route Ali gives its easy to find and the lady who looks after the house was brilliant in giving us directions.  Having an English speaker on hand was really useful and she kept in touch to make sure we had everything we needed.
The villa was much bigger than it appears in the photos and all the bedrooms were lovely.  The kitchen was so well equipped we had everything we needed.  But the best  bit of all was the pool.  It was just fabulous, there was lots of shade and plenty of sun beds for all of us. The gardens with all the roses are just lovely and the lavender is spectacular. Sitting outside at the lovely large table eating in the evenings was just perfect.  This is one of the best villas we have ever used”.

“The house is lovely and very comfortable and the bedrooms are gracious and airy with plenty of space to store things.  Last summer we were in Provence in a house where there was virtually no place to put our belongings so this feels luxurious! We had a lovely time and we think you have done a beautiful, tasteful and smart renovation to the house.  My husband and I are both architects so we can truly appreciate the hard work you have done.”

“We had a great week at Casa Castagna. What a lovely place you have. The house has been beautifully renovated where the new blends in with the old. It is very well-equipped and we all loved joint-effort cooking around the kitchen island! The swimming pool was one of the best we’ve experienced and the gardens will be beautiful once they have matured. We will recommend Casa Castagna and hope to come back again another year”.

“We stayed at the wonderful Casa Castagna for several days just after New Year.  It’s a beautiful, secluded farmhouse, which has been lovingly restored. It has six large comfortable double bedrooms, four of which are en suite.  The owners have created the perfect family house, with an ample kitchen (perfectly equipped for serious chefs), a big dining and living space, games room with table tennis and table football, and gorgeous outside grounds, with a swimming pool (closed in the winter), a large outside dining space and distant views to the hill towns nearby.

It’s been furnished with real care and everything you need is provided, including sheets, towels, crockery, and every conceivable kitchen gadget.  There are also plenty of the things that you need for every rental – like toilet paper, cleaning fluids, dishwasher tablets, tea, coffee and so on.  You just need to buy fresh food (and alcohol) and you’re all set. It’s the perfect place for a large family, two smaller ones or groups of friends.  There’s plenty of space for socialising as a group, or relaxing with more privacy. The house has cosy fires for winter months and state of the art insulation means that the house is wonderfully warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It has wifi internet and a phone signal throughout the house.

The nearest town is less than five minutes’ drive away and it has a bank ATM, small shops and restaurants.  There’s a supermarket about ten minutes away heading inland on the main road. Although some of the restaurants and cafes are closed in winter we always found suitable places to eat and drink nearby and, again, plenty of suggestions are included on the house website.

We went for long walks in Sibillini Mountains on two separate days.  They are about an hour’s drive from the house, with jaw-dropping views along the way.  The owners include lots of guide books and maps at the house and on the house website, so you get plenty of inspiration as to where to visit.  You are spoilt for choice with the local hill towns.  They are just so beautiful, with far-reaching vistas over Le Marche.  And you’re only about 20 minutes from the coast.  Ascoli Pisceni is about 45 minutes drive away and it has some of the most perfect Italian architecture imaginable – and the most perfect hot chocolate in the cafe on the main square.

The house is more or less equidistant between Ancona and Pescara airports.  With a car rental, it should take you around an hour to get there.  The owners send really detailed directions so you won’t get lost.

Highly recommended.”
